Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has clinched the "Esports Mobile Game of the Year" award at the Esports Awards 2024, marking a second win in a row! This accolade highlights MLBB's ongoing impact and community strength in the esports scene. Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystem at MOONTON GAMES took to the stage to thank our community, esports teams, and partners for their unwavering support. He also previewed key upcoming events, including the M6 World Championship and the third M Summit, which will be taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This award caps a stellar year for MLBB, highlighted by record viewership and action-packed tournaments, such as the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024 and the MLBB Women's Invitational (MWI) 2024. Female MLBB esports athletes shine in history-making MWI 2024 👑

In July, the MWI 2024, the largest and only women's esports tournament at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024, concluded in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. MWI 2024 served as a platform for female players to pursue their esports ambitions and featured a USD 500,000 prize pool, the highest-ever for women's esports. This third edition of MWI broke previous viewership records, achieving 265,117 Peak Concurrent Viewers, up from 179,024 in 2023. This year, Smart Omega Empress (OMGE) made history by becoming the first Filipino team to win a tournament at EWC 2024 after dethroning the 2023 champions, Team Vitality, and ending their 24-match win streak dating back to 2021.

As the nation's leading bank, ABA Bank has become an essential part of daily financial life for many Cambodians. While ABA Bank saw great success with digital wallets and QR code payments, it initially lacked penetrating the esports and gaming markets, which heavily requires the use of debit and credit cards.

To make a breakthrough and connect with the youth demographic, a key player in online shopping, ABA Bank set its sights on the growing MLBB esports and gaming sector. Recognizing the potential of MLBB experiences as an avenue for youth engagement, ABA Bank partnered with the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Cambodia to leverage the excitement and community spirit of the MLBB fanbase to promote its card services.

In collaboration with MOONTON Games and Mastercard, ABA Bank launched limited-edition MLBB debit cards, designed specifically to resonate with the gaming and esports audience. The campaign was a resounding success, with card issuance during the campaign period being the highest in several years! MOONTON GAMES has partnered with Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) to grow Saudi Arabia's esports sector. Signed on the sidelines of the New Global Sport Conference (NGSC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the collaboration will span areas such as marketing, the hosting of professional tournaments, education, and community development. SEF committed to featuring MLBB as a game title in its 2025 calendar of events. In return, MOONTON Games has pledged to support the organization through in-game, marketing, broadcast, and technical assistance. MOONTON Games is excited to drive growth across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with MPL MENA standing as the leading esports league in the region.

Snapdragon Pro Series champions thank thousands of Malaysian fans during Grand Finals 🔥

Delivered by ESL FACEIT Group, Qualcomm Technologies Inc., and MOONTON Games, the Playoffs in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia drew thousands of passionate fans eager to watch top MLBB teams from across the region. The Grand Finals saw Filipino powerhouses Falcons AP.Bren (FCAP) defeat Team Liquid Echo (TLPH) to claim the championship. FCAP's head coach, Coach Ducky, expressed his gratitude on social media for the warm reception and support from Malaysian fans. Despite the absence of Malaysian teams in the Grand Finals, the local crowd showed up in full force, creating a vibrant atmosphere that highlighted the power of MLBB esports in uniting fans across regions. According to Esports Charts, the tournament achieved a Peak Concurrent Viewership of 888,710.

Elementary school principal highlights positive impact of "MLBB Goes To School" on students' life skills 🏫

As shared in a previous edition, MOONTON Games hosted an esports tournament for elementary school students in Indonesia, to cultivate essential skills like communication and teamwork for the youth. In a follow-up interview, Imam Wahyudi, Principal of SDN Pandanwangi 1 Malang, praised the initiative for its positive impact on students' collaboration and emotional regulation. Student Rayhan Satria Pratama also highlighted how it taught him perseverance and resilience, benefiting his studies. Fans and content creators come together to celebrate the MLBB Philippines community! 🎉

In July, the MLBB Philippines community came together for the #MLBBKOLBrawlS2 and #MLBBVictoryNight2024! The month-long tournament featured content creators which culminated in a Grand Finals event where fans, pro players, guest personalities, and Philippine pop groups joined in on the excitement. The celebrations continued with the MLBB Victory Night, where gaming personalities gathered for an awards ceremony honoring our content creators. This event served as a reminder of our community's strength and the joy of the shared experiences that MLBB has cultivated.

Egypt emerged as MLBB champions at the 16th IESF African Esports Championship 2024 🥇

Last month, Morocco hosted the 16th International Esports Federation (IESF) African Esports Championship 2024, the first major offline intercontinental competition held in Africa. Organized by the IESF, the event featured several gaming titles including MLBB with representative teams from Egypt, Madagascar, Morocco, Nigeria, the Republic of Djibouti, Senegal, South Africa, and Tunisia. The Playoffs saw Egypt emerge as the regional champions for the Mixed and Women's tournaments, while Morocco finished as the runners-up in the Mixed tournament. All three teams will represent Africa at the IESF World Esports Championship 2024 this November in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia!
