MLBB Esports is returning to Jakarta, Indonesia for its biggest showing yet—the M7 World Championship (M7). In January 2026, the seventh edition of the M Series will take over the Indonesian capital, placing it at the center of the global esports spotlight.

Indonesia has established itself as the powerhouse of MLBB Esports. Home to the world's largest MLBB fanbase, the nation has delivered record-breaking viewership and packed arenas year after year. According to Esports Charts, MLBB Professional League (MPL) Indonesia has surpassed 100 million Hours Watched (HW) in each of its past five seasons, reflecting the country's unrivaled passion for the title. The return of the M Series to Jakarta is both a celebration of this spirit and a showcase of Indonesia on the global esports stage.

Ahead of M7, MOONTON Games announced a landmark partnership with Visa, marking the payments giant's first entry into MLBB Esports. The collaboration brings Visa into the MLBB ecosystem, integrating secure digital payments to give fans seamless access to world-class esports experiences. Through the partnership, fans will benefit from easier access to global esports moments, while young consumers gain a trusted pathway into the digital economy.

Adrian Cher, Global Head of Partnerships, MLBB Esports at MOONTON Games, said: "Having Visa onboard for the M7 World Championship is a huge milestone for the industry. It shows how far MLBB and mobile esports have come—now attracting global, mainstream brands. While this is all incredibly exciting, more importantly is how this partnership allows us elevate the M7 experience for our fans. Every partnership should make a difference—and with Visa, we are going beyond esports. Having them onboard provides the youth reliable payment solutions, empowering them to thrive in the digital economy while pursuing their passions."

The M7 will also be powered by the realme 15 Pro, following MOONTON Games’ strategic collaboration with the brand. The partnership highlights the shared vision of both brands to elevate the esports experience by bringing fans closer to action through technology. By joining forces, MOONTON Games and realme aim to showcase Indonesia as a leading esports hub while reinforcing the M7's role as a stage for passion, skill, and innovation.

Martinus H Manurung, Head of ID Business Development at @MOONTON Games, said: "Partnering with realme is a strategic step as we aim to make the M7 the largest M Series yet. With the realme 15 Pro as the M7 Official Gaming Phone, MLBB fans worldwide will experience the tournament at its best through smooth performance and immersive gameplay. This partnership allows us to showcase Indonesia—the home of the most passionate MLBB community—as a leading esports hub. We're equally excited to share this energy and enthusiasm with the realme community."

According to Esports Charts, MLBB emerged as the most-watched mobile esports title of 2024. The upcoming M7 in Jakarta will not only showcase the country's sporting culture, but also demonstrate how MLBB now stands alongside the nation's most popular sports.

Partner Success Story 🤝

A new era for Malaysia Esports and how brands are reaching more hearts and households 🇲🇾

As Malaysia's most popular esports league, MPL Malaysia has grown into more than just a tournament. It's now become a cultural touchpoint for the country's youth. With over 870,000 PCV in Season 14, government endorsement, and strong nationwide broadcast presence, the league connects with millions of young fans who live and breathe digital entertainment.

Since announcing its transition to a new format in 2026, MPL Malaysia is gearing up for its next phase of growth. The move has already attracted a wave of new brand partners across industries—from F&B to movies to automotive—reflecting the league's growing influence as a mainstream platform for youth engagement. By adopting elements from global sports leagues such as the NFL and NBA, the enhanced format aims to elevate Malaysia's esports ecosystem through more opportunities for collaboration, commercial growth, and long-term sustainability.

For brands, reaching Malaysia's youth can feel like navigating a fast-moving game—traditional channels rarely capture their attention or reflect the communities they care about. But MPL Malaysia offers a different stage. By blending one of the world's most popular pastimes—gaming—with esports action, live events, and interactive experiences, the league brings young audiences together in ways that feel authentic. It's a place where engagement happens organically, creating touchpoints that few other platforms can match.

Grab turns food into fun moments

Grab's Malaysian esports debut demonstrated how brands can use the league's energetic environment to connect with youth in fun, meaningful ways. Using MPL Malaysia as its stage, Grab transformed its GrabFoodForOne campaign into a series of interactive experiences. Claw machine challenges to 1v1 MLBB arenas and weekly fan-versus-pro sessions kept the audience going back Grab with how naturally it fit into the fan experience. Through these activities, Grab didn't just promote food delivery—it celebrated the shared joy of play, competition, and community. Supported by broadcast and social media, the campaign extended online, featuring pro players in Grab's Sembang Bersama Grab (Chat with Grab) series that blended humor, gaming, and lifestyle. Together, these touchpoints turned food into fun, and Grab into a relatable brand within Malaysia's youth culture

TRON: Ares brings cinema to the esports stage

The TRON: Ares collaboration with MPL Malaysia brought the magic of cinema into the esports arena. The partnership transformed the venue into a futuristic showcase inspired by the film's world, complete with the iconic TRON bike and glowing light displays that captured the spirit of the movie. Fans stepped into the experience through themed activities and exclusive MLBB rewards, blurring the line between screen and stage. A special screening with professional players and talents extended the excitement beyond the tournament, creating a shared cinematic moment for the community. The collaboration highlighted how MPL Malaysia managed to bridge storytelling and competition—offering entertainment brands a stage where their worlds come vividly to life.

Yamaha's showcase in an arena where performance meets play

Yamaha revved up excitement at MPL Malaysia, using the league as the launchpad for its latest bike model. The collaboration brought motorsport energy to the esports stage, capturing the thrill and precision that defines biking and competitive esports. A custom MPL Malaysia x Yamaha bike inspired by MLBB hero, Brody, stood at the heart of the activation. A bold fusion of design, power, and play that turned heads. By unveiling its newest model at the MPL Malaysia Season 16 opener, Yamaha tapped into the heart of Malaysia's vibrant esports community. The campaign brought esports energy to life in a way that embodied Yamaha's speed, innovation, and youthful spirit.

These partnerships mark a new chapter for MPL Malaysia. By blending entertainment, live experiences, and youth culture, the league has become a trusted gateway for brands to reach Malaysia's next generation. As it enters the enhanced franchise era in 2026, MPL Malaysia shows that esports is a stage for storytelling, community, and meaningful connections. Its growth reflects a broader shift in how brands engage young audiences: esports is now a mainstream cultural arena where passion, identity, and entertainment converge. For brands, MPL Malaysia offers something few platforms can match—authentic access, cultural credibility, and the heart of the community.

Empowering educators with esports and STEM skills đź’Ş

MOONTON Games is expanding its impact beyond esports with the launch of the Guru Juara MOONTON Masterclass. In partnership with @Esports Integrated (ESI), the national initiative under Malaysia's Ministry of Youth and Sports, the program equips primary school teachers with digital game management skills and innovative STEM teaching strategies.

Deon Moh, Head of Publishing Strategy Alignment at MOONTON Games, said: "Over the course of the past year, we've been around many schools across Malaysia—especially primary schools—where they requested for MOONTON's presence there because they feel that, 'just me being part of hosting this tournament, showing support, allows me as a school and teacher to connect with students'. They actually use these as a way to reward good students—those with no discipline problems, no attendance issues, who do their homework. The Guru Juara MOONTON Masterclass represents our long-term commitment to responsible digital literacy and youth development. By equipping teachers with the right tools and knowledge, we are unlocking win-win opportunities—enabling educators to connect better with their students while preparing the next generation to thrive in a tech-driven world."

The half-day workshops cover digital game competition management and 3D design, equipping teachers to organize structured esports programs while fostering creativity in line with STEM objectives. Through the program, MOONTON Games is creating new opportunities for students and teachers while shaping the future of education in Malaysia.
